Queens: Day 1
Alright everybody! We left from Woburn at about...1:15pm-ish and got here around 4 pm. The bus ride was actually quite fast since Ivan and I were watching Saw on my lap top. Kingston didn't seem the same from when I went to visit my sister during March Break. The atmosphere seemed so dull and unexciting, with a little bit of teenage angst. The music they were blaring while we were lining up to sign in was um..pretty terrible (to me anyways), I won't actually name any names just so I don't accidentally offend anybody. The residence that we are staying at this year is supposedly the same as last year: Leonard Hall. It definitely isn't the same kindof place like Chown from two years ago, but it's definitely a newer building with nicer furniture. The thing about Leonard Hall is that each floor has its own common room, so there isn't much interaction between sexes just yet.
I forgot how dinner was really early too, 5:00-6:15, and I took a nap until 6 so I rushed down and grabbed some soup and some weird meat thing to eat. I ended up not eating too much. We then had a meeting in the big common room (where guys and girls can be) and went over the rules...again. We were then FORCED to go on a campus tour, although we all had a sheet of the map and then later made a junk food stop at A&Ps. We were only allowed 15 minutes to get everything we needed. I got gelato (but its not REAL gelato), crispers, a box of frosted cheerios, and a bottle of water. The time that we needed to meet back outside "under the pansies" (mr. grigg) was about 9 pm. It was 8:45 when I lined up to pay for my stuff at the cashier (fourth person so it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes), and I don't think I have ever seen such an incompetent cashier woman ever! She took almost 10 minutes helping two customers with their stuff ($127.89 I think?), and she was just putting the food and what not into the bags and then loading them into those gigantic red boxes. I mean..holy shit! And then she messed up the next two people in line because they were paying by debit card and she didn't know how to punch in the codes. I mean...HOLY CRAP! If you can't memorize simple codes that let people pay with credit and debit cards, you shouldn't be a cashier. The worst part is, I was in the shortest line but I didn't get out until 9:05. Everyone was already outside and were starting to get a little grouchy when I came out.
Anyways, tomorrow is my first day of my class (Hands-On Pathology) and I really hope that it doesn't suck. So far, all the other students that I have seen were generic white people, or other races that are trying to be white. Like, you got the jocks and the surfer dudes; the tight-jeaned, small tshirt females; and then the other people who look like "tools" as Ivan put it. Hopefully my class isn't full of all these people because then I would feel so out of place.
I'm really glad that my internet connection works (so far) because it gets kindof lonely being the only grade 12 girl and being able to talk to some on msn really helps. So, that's about it for now and hopefully my ankle gets better because I frikkin RErolled it yesterday.

Heh. Girl I was training on cash the other day?
Most. Incompetent. Cashier. Ever.
She didn't charge people! Every single card was off by at least $70 (and as much at $270).
I have to say, if you have less than a grade 7 math level, you really shouldn't be a cashier. Just not the job for you.

Bahahaha! I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed by incompetent cashiers. Wow! $270?!?! She should be fired.
