Rocky Raccoon!
I don't know why, but no matter how rabid the raccoons may be, they're still absolutely adorable to me. The ringed tail and that little masked face..so cute! It's probably all that San-x stuff I was exposed to during my fob phase. But back to the raccoons. There were 3 outside of our house last night and they were so clever! They actually knocked down the giant log that we put on top of the green bin, unlatched the lid and were eating things inside. I heard the scratching of plastic from my room (which is right above where the garbage cans and stuff are) and I told my dad. He rushed down, and shooed off what he thought to be all of them (two)and when he went to check the green bin, another one jumped out of the bin. It totally freaked him out, even though he won't admit to it. After that, my dad took his 5-iron (or 3?) and started hitting the wooden fence to scare off the raccoons. He even threw one of our empty bins into the dark hoping to hit something. One of the raccoons went into the opposite direction of the other two and had to run on the fence to join them again. He was running, my dad was holding a golf club about to swing at it, and it totally psyched out the raccoon. It slipped but didn't fall off the fence (heehee..I find that adorable).
After they were gone, we had to put all the green bin garbage into a new bag, and had to figure out how to stop the raccoons from eating our delicious left-overs in the garbage.I came up with the idea of sticking one of the heavy cinderblocks on top of the lid, so even if they were able to push it off, they would probably hurt/kill itself or another raccoon. We went with that plan and even after we all tried to settle back into bed and try to sleep, I heard the scraping plastic noises once again. I called for my dad, he opened the back door and the three raccoons scurried off again. Then silence, I tried to get back to bed, but again I heard the noises. This time my dad just shone a flashlight from my window and the raccoons didn't come back. Maybe we somehow synthesized daylight and they all went to take a nap. One of the times when my dad opened the door, a huge fly zoomed into our house, and my sister and dad closed the doors into one of the small hallways and all I could hear was, "Dad! Just grab a sandal and kill it!", "Boom, crash, boom!".
So as you can see, this was a lot of commotion for one night, and after ALL this, we had a blackout. Yes, our theory was that since we thwarted the raccoons plans to eat our garbage, they blacked out our entire neighbourhood. Yup, sounds logical enough to me!

I only have one more week of work left and it's all over!! Yay! I can finally have a "relaxing" summer and sit around, or go shopping (ooo..I have a debit card now =)).

Gah!
So it was your fault that my electricity was out. I'll blame the cable outage on you too, then.
