He's my Hero
It's been 8 months now and I still can't believe how incredibly lucky I am to have found someone like Kyle. It's weird how I went from never truly dating to serious relationship...but it seemed so easy with him. Him and his cheeks *pinch pinch* and his hockey skills of course (yowza!)
We met during Frosh week (I remember in vivid detail) on Faculty day and I was running late and ended up in the most boring Element group ever...Tantalum. I must praise the fact now that I was late because if it wasn't for my awesome ability to not wake up to blaring alarm clocks, I would have never met Kyle. We got to talking during the body painting where we painted the same stuff (teehee!) and did each others tattoos. During lunch that day, he told me he was native and I was totally floored. Wow! A Native guy! The only other native guy I've ever met was a story teller when I was in elementary school. This just sparked more conversations and we went out to explore Hamilton the next day.
During the bus ride to an unknown destination, he asked me if I wanted to go see a movie some time...I thought: Did a cute guy just ask me out for a date?! How can this be possible? I'm not even good looking or cute or anything!!! Since then, things have been sweet. I love him and he loves me ^_^. I never thought I would find someone so great in first year since I lived off campus, but I guess it turned out for the better! (The bestest better there is!) I'm totally amazed at his insights into the world and how he is so patient with me. I know I can be all "grrrr!!!" and "shuuutttuppp!!" sometimes but he's still around for some reason. It's so nice to find someone who really cares about you...it gives me a little tingle inside just thinking about it heehee...He really is my hero (lol!). And as an added bonus, he's not afraid of spiders! (What a complete package!!) Teeheee..

Note: this post is NOT just to accept tiff's challenge.

Music Banquet photos
Ok, here are some pictures from the music banquet. I don't have any from the Milton regatta though (any of me in them anyways :P ).
Here's Justin and Eric performing another amazing song

Tiffany looking like a lobster....or some messed up ant

A decent picture of Tiff and Me (I?). Is it really apparent that I'm covering my cut on my right knee?

Awww...do we really make Adam that miserable/nervous? (Note the big hair)

The guy that looks like Khashayar. It was totally accidental, I was trying to take a picture of Tiffany.

Flash from the Past
I had been so busy since I got to Toronto last Wednesday. So...let's start things off with talking about what happened Thursday!
THURSDAY
I met up with Tiff and Steph for lunch at Jack Astor's, and then we went to visit Woburn (where we met Neena!). It was great to see all the teachers again, especially since the last time was reading week...they still all look the same. When I got to Woburn, I got a call on my cell phone from M&M Meat Shops. The woman said they had a opening for me at a shop near my house which is quite exciting. Now I don't have to mooch entirely off my parents over the summer time, I have my own money to spend! Plus this job can possibly open up a lot of retail jobs since I have to do everything from selling food to cooking food for sampling. Plus, half the store is a gigantic freezer so it's alright if it's 35 degrees outside, I'll be chillin' indoors.
After the Woburn visit (where Mrs. Houghton guilted me into going to Music Banquet), we all went to STC to go shopping for the banquet. I realized after we went shopping that I left my dress AND my shoes in Hamilton so I decided to go to Fairview mall the nextday to buy something nice.
FRIDAY
Bright and early in the morning I had to go to M&Ms to sign some papers (including tax forms which are oh so confusing). I also got my M&M sweater...and that made me feel special for some reason. After that, I followed through with my plan and went to Fairview and bought myself a nice beach dress (that I will probably wear often) and a $10 pair of black pants for work.
Tiff came and picked me up from my house after that and we both head over to Michelle's to pamper before the banquet. I loved Michelle's straightening/flattening iron. It had these ions I think that made your hair extra straight and I finally found out how long my hair actually is. I love it!
The banquet itself was pretty nice, I have some pictures, if you want to see them I can post them up later. There were a lot of people and I ended up having a pretty good time. It definitely felt a little weird sitting at the "adult" table with the teachers.
I left a little early because I had a regatta to go to the next day...
SATURDAY
The Milton Regatta! My mom drove me at 6:30 in the morning to Milton, a city that is halfway between Toronto and Waterloo. I was dead tired, but the good weather heightened my spirits. I bonded more with the team and I enjoyed the races. It was pretty interesting racing because we haven't learnt starts yet, power series or finishes so it was just kindof a uphill battle. Plus the boat that I was on (there are two Mac boats) we only had 13 people paddling and it was hard! We went pretty slowly but in the last and most important race, we ended up beating a full boat which felt amazing.
After the racing finished, we went to Jon's place in Mississauga for a barbecue. His house is like a frikkin mansion. When you walk in, there's a knight there...a KNIGHT! Fancy.
His backyard was beautiful and we had a great time laughing and eating craploads of meat. Later that night, the bugs came in swarms and we all sat inside watching the hockey game and trying to find Jon's cute little kitten. The kitten was eventually found behind the couch we were all sitting on.
It was the first time I had beer other than Bud, and they didn't taste that bad until you chug them, then it just tastes like ass. Yuck. I left the party a little early too so I could get some rest for the next day.
SUNDAY
We had practice bright and early in the morning at Sunnyside and people were feeling sore and tired from the day before. I had a pounding headache that wouldn't go away, but once we started paddling it slowly faded. My muscles ached from the very beginning and after did starts, I felt like my arm was going to fall off. We focused on power after we practiced the starts and I thought I was going to die.
What happened was we paddled at 90% for 30 seconds, then we had a break for 30 seconds. Then we go for an extra 20 seconds, so for 50 seconds we paddled at 90% and then we had a break for 30 seconds. It went like this until we went to 2 minutes and 30 seconds, so you can imagine how hard it was. For the 2:30 one, we actually raced the other boat that had more people on it, and we beat them! It felt awesome!
Now I'm back in Hamilton and I'm trying to START studying for the bio test that is coming up on Wednesday.
In conclusion, I had a busy couple of days. I found a flexible job over the summer time, and I hope people visit me when I'm working! The M&M Meat Shop that I'm working at is the one at Steeles and 404.
I had an excellent weekend, and I can't wait till next weekend when we have our Pickering regatta!

May 2-4 Weekend
In short, the long weekend was excellent. Kyle came and I took him to places he's never been to.
In more detail,
I met up with Stella at her new house on Thursday and explored her very modern and expensive looking kitchen. We made our own pasta in the sense of boiling pasta and mixing it with already made Pesto sauce and fried spam. Tasted great! But we made a whole lot. Afterwards, we took the bus downtown and Stella and I waited at the bus station for Kyle to come. We waited....and waited...and we still didn't see him on the bus! Soon after, Stella had to leave for her meeting and I waited alone...and waited...and waited. 50 minutes later I get a call on my cell and I find out Kyle got off one of the buses and went over to the main terminal already. How did I miss seeing him getting off the buses? I will never know. We went to the Eatons Centre and met up with Webnesh. We walked around, had food and Web and I caught up on our oh-so-exciting lives. Later on, my mom picked Kyle and I up (we said bye to Web!) and went home and had a very traditional Chinese dinner.
On friday, I took him to the Science Centre since he's never been to it. OSC was alright except there weren't any new exhibits so it wasn't as exciting for me. Plus there were a lot of school groups so therefore a lot of screaming annoying kids running around and hogging all the cool things to do. After OSC, we went to go find a TD bank and I got yelled at for my horrible parking by a crazy lady, "you're going to get a ticket because you parked right on the line!"
On Saturday: Pacific Mall. That's right...I took a native guy to Pac Mall. I haven't been there myself in a long time, and a lot of shops have changed from selling jewelry to selling illegal dvds. I think we passed by at least 5 stores selling still-in-theatres movies.
Sunday was the day my parents have been preparing for...the Davinci Code Day. The family + Kyle went to go meet up with Alex (Abby's bf) at Eglinton Town Centre (or the other one? The one with the huge Cineplex) in the Casey's by the theatre and had a pretty huge meal. We watched the movie shortly after.
THE MOVIE BLEW.
I'm sure no one is suprised by that comment. The book had so much potential in the movie but it was so boring. I don't think it's because we've all read the book either. I read "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" and I still loved the movie to bits. I think (and we all agreed) that the casting was probably the weakest link in the series of weak links. Audrey Tautou and Tom Hanks had no spark whatsoever and the semi-relationship that they gave off was more like father-daughter than man-woman. This movie also reminds me of my dislike for Tom Hanks. Other than Forrest Gump, I haven't liked any of his movies. And he said "libary" in the movie! It's "libRary"! It made him seem incompetent. Plus he was fat.
We had to move the grill into the solarium because it was way too windy outside to do anything. My dad didn't open the screen doors wide enough so the smoke went into the house. The chicken wings also caught on fire and I freaked out because Kyle took out the rack and held the flaming chicken wings (that were dripping flaming oil) over the carpet. The good news: no one got burnt; the bad news: the chicken wings did.
Monday: Everyone left Toronto. I did, Abby did and Kyle did. I'll be back in Toronto on Wednesday!

Update
Dragonboat practice last Saturday was great, and so was Wonderland right afterwards. Neither Kyle or I brought a camera so I don't have any pictures to show you. It was pretty cold when we went to practice for db, bright and early at 9 in the morning. It's unfair how the day I actually go outside is the day that the weather decides to be a jerk and be 5 degrees lower than the day before and after it. The temp didn't make Wonderland that much fun either, but I went on a lot of rides. The tickets are also good for one more trip to Wonderland before June 30th, so I'll probably go again with Kyle. I went on the Bat, I was so proud of myself. It was pretty scary going down so fast and then going backwards again, but the ride itself was pretty short and it was quite a rush.
On some other news, Kyle isn't taking a summer course anymore and he went back to Wiky. He wasn't going to get funding for it so I told him that it wasn't worth taking it. Now that he's not here, I decided to spend more time in Toronto than in Hamilton and be with family instead. I'll only be in Hamilton Monday to Wednesday (unless there's something coming up) so I can meet up with anybody who wants to have lunch or something eh? *nudge nudge*

Not Home Just Yet
I'm currently taking summer school right now, not too much fun but at least the majority of the people in the house are doing the same so I'm feeling less miserable.
Still the same sort of things happening around the house, except certain people have been getting on my back a lot more (which is really bugging me!). I made the cuts and am now officially part of the McMaster Dragonboat Team! Yay!! Our first practice is this Saturday and this one guy on the team scored some sweet $21 Wonderland tickets (you get to go twice!) and a bunch of us are going there after practice. It seems like bad weather is coming but hopefully it will go away by Saturday (cross your fingers everybody!). The practices are held in the same place as the Woburn team, but now that I've rowed in Hamilton waters, Toronto water seems like the cleanest water ever!
Let's just say that Hamilton water isn't exactly the right colour of water. It goes from brown to orange to green...all the colours of the steel factory rainbow you could say.
Umm...Kyle's staying in the same house as me for the summer too, he's taking the same course as me. We're both trying to upgrade our marks in first term Bio to have a better chance at getting into our programs next year.
I can't believe I haven't updated in so long, I actually almost forgot my password!
