Swimming and Heat!

Went to school today, nothing too eventful happened except I found out my horrible marks and I calculated (hopefully) that I still have the percentage to get a $1000 scholarship for McMaster. A whole bunch of us went to Frederick's for some lunch and we got extremly extremely stuffed. Afterwards, Tiff, Mark, Anthony, Howard and I decided to go swimming at Agincourt pool where Tiffany was working as a lifeguard. She drove Anthony and Mark to Anthony's house to get their swimming stuff, err...Anthony to get TWO of his swimming stuff and then bike over to my house. Tiff came over to my house and we chilled and ate delicious cold ice-cream =P. The plan was for Tiffany to leave earlier to get to her orientation and then for me, Mark and Anthony to ride our bikes over. I discovered that I couldn't find my sister's keys to her bike lock anywhere and there was no possible way for three bikes to share one small U-lock. So we ended up going earlier with Tiffany in her car and therefore getting there a little passed 2 (sorry Tiffany about making you late!!). The water was pretty nice at the pool and we went on the nice slide a lot of times. The last time I went to Agincourt pool there wasn't even a slide! (I think...). Soon afterwards Howard meets us (he actually rode his bike), and then soon after that, Sanjee came, which was a bit of a surprise.
The five of us had a lot of fun just chilling in the whirlpool, fighting..err..play-fighting in the pool and going down the slide a LOT of times!!! Anthony won for biggest splash =P. I can't believe we actually stayed there and swam for two hours!! The time just zoooooooommmeedd by! *racecar sound* (sidenote: 'racecar''s a palindrome! WOAH!!). The pool closed at 4:30 and we went to one of the chinese food places close by to get some chow (most of us were starving!). I ordered up some chicken wings and fries (possibly the whitest thing to get), and mooched off a lot of pasta from other people, oo! and bbq pork (thanks anthony!).
Now I'm home all refreshed and glad that I decided to GO swimming today. I mean, it's so frikkin HOTTTT outside!!! The water was definitely a nice way to stay cool.
I hope for more fun times to come people and have fun on your vacays!!

DRAGONBOAT!

YES! We made it to A DIVISION!!!! (for the past two years, we were in C division, the lowest and therefore SLOWEST group). But this year we made it to the A, where the first 3 teams get medals and for the title of Junior Champions. We placed fifth but it was one of our best years yet! We were actaully 5th in TORONTO! (holy shit!) I mean, our race times were between 2:21 and 2:23 (which is far better than I expected from what I observed from practices). I discovered more bruises on my legs from the H&M "incident" which really sucked because now my legs look like they've been abused beyond belief. I got so much free stuff and faked a form for a GM visa card so I could get this awesome travelling tool kit. Also got Charmin Ultra toilet paper..very comfortable and a whole bunch of other stuff that wasn't very important. Ooo, we got instant tattoos! There were a whole bunch from the GM place and Dali stuck one on his ass. I actually proposed that I would stick one on my ass if he did too. I was shocked that he actually did, and I chickened out because I didn't really want to stick my hand into my pants to stick on an instant tattoo. I ended up getting it on my lower back, which looks a lot nicer.
We came in first for our first heat, second for the second heat, and 5th for our third heat. I didn't expect for us to ever make it into A division, let alone beat Earl Haig three times!!!! (booyakasha!!) Afterwards, Becca, Steph, Tiff and I got a ride from Matt back to Tiff's place to hang out for a bit. We ate those wheat thins or something and watched a little television. Afterwards, Matt came back to pick us up and we went to the korean bbq place called "Korean Barbecue Restaurant" (creative eh?) at Midland and Finch and ate...and ate...and ate. Becca and I also had a litte fun playing the penis game in the restaurant and sticking beef bones into the hole in the grill. Also taking stupid pictures like me clamping Steph's nose with my clampy thingys. We ordered SOOOOOO much beef!!!! OMG! Writing this right now is making me pant a little because I had so much beef. I had like one small bite of rice which was my only carb for the entire meal. There was also this waiter who had this thing over his nose (either from a nose job or a broken nose, we couldn't tell) and we kept making fun. We were SO mean but it was SO hilarious.
Overall the entire day was GREAT! Except I felt a little bad for missing kumon, but hey, I'm going to be done in a week anyways biatches!!! Also I was one of the few who jumped into the fountain..I don't know why everyone else chickened out (chickens! *makes chicken noises*). Thanks to the entire team for giving me a great finish to my short-term dragonboat career and it was an honour to have paddled with you (especially Carol my pacer partner!). And thanks to mother nature I guess for the beautiful weather and for giving me a sweet tan (with the exception of weird short short tan lines haha).
You never know, maybe there WILL be an alumni woburn dragonboat team next year, I would definitely join. I don't think I would want to be part of the Holy Makaroni's or the Holy Mackeral's (sp?) next year if there is a woburn db team I can join. Now I would like to end this entry with this:
WHO ARE WE?

WOBURN!
WHAT DO WE STAND FOR?
PRIDE!
HOW DO WE DO IT?
TOGETHER!
1, 2, 3 WBRN!
WOBURN, WBRN!!!
WOBURN, WBRN!!!!!!

First Day of Break!

I woke up at 10:30 today, I felt fantastic! I cleaned up the house a little bit, ate a quick lunch and met up with my sister at Fairview to do some shopping and movie-watching. The point of the shopping to begin with was to find me a new pair of sunglasses, but we, I mean, I started checking bikinis instead hehehe....We went into H&M and there were a lot of nice looking ones that I wanted to try. There was this one particular one that was really cute, had like little flowers on them and everything, but it was a little high for me to reach. On the floor right underneath the racks was what it seemed to be a brown bench almost, there was no sign that told me I couldn't step on it or anything, so I did to reach it. What happened was that that brown bench was actually a bunch of drawers on wheels, and when I stepped on it, it flipped over, made a huge crash (the store went silent for a couple of seconds), and I made a complete ass of myself. I wanted to ask a store clerk or salesperson or someone to help me get it but my sister searched high and low and we really couldn't find anyone (the only thing to tell them apart is this little almost insignificant name tag/brooch thingy). It was after I made a loud crash that ONE store clerk came and was like "why does everyone keep stepping on these? Does it look like a bench?", I really wanted to belt out "YES YOU SOB!" but I didn't of course. Instead I said "well, you should've put up a sign saying 'do not step' or something", and she replies, "well, there was one (points to empty space), but the manager won't let me put signs on all the drawers". But really, what is there to deter (sp?) people FROM sitting on there? NOTHING! Ah well, I ended up scraping up my arm, neck and knees a little. It was fun though. Afterwards, we went to watch Mr. and Mrs. Smith which was a pretty hilarious and therefore GREAT movie. Before going into the theatre, Abby and I went to go buy some gummies and caramel corn at bulk barn, and I totally forgot to hide my bulk barn bag when we went in. The woman there gave me a ticket thingy and said I can claim my food after the movie's done. After we sat down in the theatre, Abby had a brilliant idea of claiming the food, saying to the woman that we're going to give it to our parents who are in the mall somewhere, and then stick the food back in her bag and back into the theatre. Miraculously, it worked! I had my gummies, they were quite satisfying =). We sat down in the theatre about 30 minutes early so we kindof observed everyone else who came in. There were four nerd-like chinese guys sitting in front of us and they wouldn't stop talking about porn really loudly. Example: "Yea, you know, porn is just so great! *high five*". There was this really annoying guy sitting behind us who kept reading everything on the screen really slowly and with an accent. I mean, he read out the trivia questions and all the little tidbit things that Rainbow Theatres have in their Powerpoint slideshow. Overall, today was a good day and an interesting start to my summer break. I got a little bummed that we ended up not having enough time to go swimming today, it would have been very relaxing.

It's Late..err..Early? Can't sleep..

Woburn is now of the past.

So the visit to Sam Steele and Macmillan was good. Myself, Anthony, old friend from sam/mac and my sister visited Sam Steele first and it was surprising that the secretary lady was still there and STILL remebered who we were. Mr. Peach was still there (now 11 years!) and I still can't figure out if he has an accent or not. Not a lot of teachers that taught us were still there, most of them retired, but there were some that just went to other schools to teach. Do you guys remember Ms. Grose from the commencement this year as one of those high-up-there TDSB people? She was actually our vice-principal for a year in Sam Steele which was why she looked SO familiar to me when I saw her this year. Macmillan was a little bit more interesting because more teachers were there..and other people that I didn't expect to see (hiss...). Mrs. Mular-Richards is still cynical and I regretted visiting her first for a little bit. We missed a lot of teachers though because most of them already went home, or according to us, got tipped off by Mr. Oelsner that we were there and ran out of the school. Afterwards, we went to the playground, had some monkey-bar-fighting, and had some fun on the swings. Sometimes, I miss being a kid but I would never want to go back and relive it ever.
***
IT'S OVER! I'm so glad that I don't have to stay up late cramming for exams or doing homework, I can now just stay up late for no particular reason! YES! Today wasn't necessarily a great day though because I don't think I did as well as I could have on the Algeo test, plus my awesome sunglasses got stolen! I was an idiot and left them in the washroom stall when I was changing and poof! GONE! Damn you Woburn students! At least they weren't extremely expensive like the ones that Tiff said Matt lost, I can't imagine how much that must have sucked balls. Plus we had our VERY LAST dragonboat practice today and we were supposed to go to the weight room to work on our puny muscles (maybe just mine haha), but the room was being renovated or something so we went for a short run instead. We ran Pegasus, then down Ellesmere to Scarborough Golf Club, down SGC to Brimorton (sp?) and back around Brimorton through Gander back to school. A bunch of us went through a whole lot of sprinklers which were surprisingly refreshing. After the exam, I met up with Sanjee and we had some "celebratory drinks" at his house where his "bar" is. It wasn't as extravagent as I thought it was but it had what we wanted so it was cool. We had Madras which were 2 oz. vodka (we made it 4), and the rest of the "tall cup" filled with half orange juice and half filled with cranberry juice (we used some Cranberry Cocktail from Oceanspray, wasn't the same). At about 1:30-ish we left his house and went to the Music Council social! That was quite an interesting time. It was actually only one bus (LOL) from school and we met up with Matthew Cheung on the way there. The neighbourhood where Mr. Farrow lives is so...so....glistening. I didn't see a single grass out of place, or garbage on the street, or leaf on the sidewalk. It was very Desperate Housewife-ish, even though I've never really watched the show, thats what some people were saying. A whole bunch of us went to the nearby park and we all seemed to have reunited with our inner child because we ended up playing tag in the playground, swinging on the swings, dangling from monkey bars, and trying to hit each other with a really bouncy blue ball. Watched a bunch of movies, including the Meaning Of Life, and ate a lot of food...mmm...cake. It'll be nice to finally get some rest and relaxation tonight because I don't have to do squat the next day! I hope I get the office job, the dude hasn't emailed me back yet so I'm a little worried. I'm seriously planning to join the YMCA for the summer, and if anyone has the price for a membership, can you tell me? And if there are any deals with two people (my sister wants to join too)? Umm, it's not confirmed yet, but my parents might be going on a two week vacation in July, so there might be another party (or two) on the list of parties this summer.

One More!

Oh man you guys! One more day and it's officially over for EVERYONE! Damn those who finished already (just joking!) and let's party hard this summer k? It's still sinking in that high school is really ACTUALLY over. I really hope everyone keeps in touch! Another thing, I hope everyone comes and cheer the Woburn Dragonboat team on Saturday at Centre Island for the Dragonboat Race! This is the race that the team's been training for for a couple of months and I still hope we come away with a certificate this year =S. I still have hope in our team and I'm sure the adrenaline on the day will give us a little boost of awesome energy. Even people who are working on Saturday come out and watch! I mean, it's only ONE day and you know you want to come to Centreisland right? *nudge nudge*
I'm hoping to go visit my old schools today with some old buddies from Sam Steele and Macmillan. It's going to be so weird wandering through those halls again. Seeing the water fountains at our knees and remembering that we used to have to tiptoe to get a sip of water. The hoedowns, the costumes, the smell, the teachers...I'm going to get a nostalgia headache I'm sure. Macmillan will be weird too just because for the longest time I wanted away from that school because I've never really fit in with any crowd there. I mean, I had my friends but no one lifelong. There was Emily, whom I don't talk to anymore, and we were really tight...I wonder how she's doing right now...maybe I'll call her one time. It's sometimes difficult to see the old teachers that you've always hated and also learn of other teachers that have retired or passed away...it's always really sad.
I think we should start the partying right after the Algeo exam tomorrow, who's with me?! We'll go dragracing and skinny dipping or something, haha, no, maybe go see a movie? Like...Mr and Mrs. Smith? eh? EH? *nudge nudge* I don't think I'm even going to study that much for Algeo, just because as long as I keep it at a 90 I get $1000 from Mac, which is GREAT for me!
There's this smell that I keep smelling and it keeps giving me a chill or a weird feeling in my tummy. It's not a bad smell, it's actually a very familiar smell but I don't know why I keep smelling it. Maybe I'm yearning for something and my body's making me smell it? No frikkin clue.

Woo, shopping =)

Alright, around 3-ish, Abby and I decided to go to Fairview and get our dad his father's day gift (silk pajamas!). The thing about us is that once we go into a mall, we start going on unintentional sprees. I mean, when I went to the mall with Stella to eat lunch, I ended up buying three t-shirts from bluenotes(one was for my sister of course). So our loot when we got home was: the silk pajamas for my dad; abby got two more tshirts from bluenotes; pair of daisy dukes from bluenotes; two tanks for $12; a webcam, abby's grad present to moi; father's day cards; black mango bubble tea with laichee jellies; bottle of bawls; and ice cream. The highlight of the shopping experience was going into Compucentre to buy the webcam, and we saw one of the sales guys take a box, stab it really hard in two different places, draw a nose, mouth and wrote the words "Box King" on the forehead of the face in crayola marker, put the box on his head and go around scaring the other sales people. When we went up to the counter, he was making a little paper crown for it. He said that his next task was to make a cape. The "low"light of the shopping day was when we went into this dress store next to the Bay. We were really attracted by this dress hanging on a mannequin and I really wanted to try it on. When we went inside, I asked this store clerk (white, short, female) to get me the dress because the rack was one of those that hang really high up so you need that rod thing to hook onto the coat hanger. Once she brings it down for me, I spot this other dress that's all corset-like and Abby told me to try it on too. The clerk asks, "So what are you planning to buy the dress for?"
"Nothing in particular, it's just a nice dre-"
"Because you know, this is a really expensive dress (it was $160) and if you're just trying it on for fun then I rather you just not try it at all."
What A FUCKING BITCH! So what if I wanted to try it on for fun? I might have actually bought the stupid dress if she wasn't being such a gigantic bitch. What a fucking bitch. She really ruined the rest of our shopping day because Abby and I would just be walking and then one of us would go, "I still can't believe how much of a bitch that store clerk was." Anyways, this episode was before we went to check out webcams, so that compucenter dude really cheered us up.

Ok, I just came back from a hotpot dinner to celebrate my mom's work accomplishments and I've realized that the chinese identity is going out, eating a lot, and always watching television. I mean, now that I think about it, every chinese restaurant has a television (or four), and every non-white-washed chinese person in the restaurant is stuffing their face and watching television. And I'm sure that once they get home, they're going to sit on their giant sofas, turn to the same chinese channel (there is only ONE) and watch more generic chinese soap operas. Seriously, I dont understand why Americans are being affected by obesity the most, and barely scratching the chinese culture. I think for that hotpot, I ate at least 5 lbs of food without even noticing that I did. Why aren't chinese people fat?! Is it our metabolism? Because it sure isn't the exercise or the horrible eating habits. Maybe its the food that we eat, like the non-greasy and low-cholesterol foods, but in Northern China like Shang Hai and stuff, everything is covered in oil. Oily foods is Shang Hai food. The only chinese people that I see doing daily exercise would be the elderly people who do it because they have nothing else to do. I don't think I have seen 100 fat chinese people yet, and yet their diets may be even more worse than those of Americans who watch what they eat and such.

Damn Biology

Alright, I'm having major doubts as to whether or not I should stay in sciences for university. I mean, I studied hard and late for biology and I still barely passed the exam, while others didn't study at all and aced it, i mean...damn you people! (just kidding).
It's sad to finally realize that I will never have another high school biology class ever again. I'll miss you Mr. Rooney! It's hard to believe that high school is finally over and that four years of my life have just zoomed by. Lots of things have changed, including people and relationships. It's great to have experienced that with everyone I've met and befriended (hopefully :s) at Woburn. It's been really sweet. Yea, I'm sounding generic and boring but it's hard for me to put it in any other words. I'll MISS ALL OF YOU!! It just won't be the same next year when I don't see some of you guys almost every single day, or the reggie-boys just standing by my locker. Oh! My sweet locker! It's been four awesome years with you and no one has vandalized you! I'll cherish all the moments at Woburn, even the bad ones, because they've helped me become who I am today, whether I like it or not.
I'm glad that I know someone else who's going to Mac next year (woo! SanJEEvan!), and I'm excited to meet new people and experience university life, but nothing can replace high school.
So Long! Farewell! Auf weidersehen good-bye! Three more frikkin exams and high school's OVER and the wild parties BEGIN!

It Begins!

It's 1:20 in the morning and I'm a little tired from reading King Lear. I mean, I couldn't even get through an act without my eyes either watering from my cold/allergies (which I didn't know I had), or going completely blurry because they're so dry. Two horrible and uncomfortable extremes. My mom and sister didn't come home until 9 tonight and they bought sushi for dinner. They only got the small platter and I ate 3/4 of that dish so fast, and I'm still starving! (But I would never admit it to them).
Today, er, yesterday was the official last day of school. I didn't have the same I-can't-believe-it's-the-last-day feeling like I did last year, it was more like a wow-school's-almost-frikkin-over feeling instead. I know I'm going to miss a lot of people next year in university, but I mean, we're hopefully going to still keep in touch with each other, so it can't be THAT bad. Mac will be an interesting experience next year, living away from home and whatnot, meeting new people, and studying my ass off. Speaking of keeping in touch with people, I need to buy myself a new webcam. The one that I got for $20 in Kingston stopped working and kept crashing my computer so I uninstalled the program and then I found out that I lost the cd to reinstall it. Ah well, I'm going to save up some money to get a nicer cam.
I got an email back from this chinese dude who works at an advertising agency close to my house. I might end up working as a "marketing coordinator" for the summer, I hope it's fun! My sister is still contemplating whether or not to go to grad school next year or just take a year off and work at this office as the right-hand man for this boss person. She thinks that if she takes a year off to work then she won't have the motivation to go back to grad school. My opinion is that she should take a year off and see how the job works out, but she still can't decide.
I want to hurry up and finish this english exam since its the only writing exam I have out of the 5, and then hopefully get past the 3 MC science exams and do alright for my Algeo. I hope my Algeo mark didn't drop because i got that abismal mark on that ONE test. Does anyone think that Mr. Mo would drop my mark because I got a 50 on one test, even if I got 90s on everything else?

Barbara and Abby's Excellent Adventure

So it was quite an interesting day yesterday when I asked my sister to drive me to Corey's house (Sheppard and something, Meadowvale?). The day already started off on the wrong foot when we decided to follow mapquest's directions to get there. It told us to go south on Warden, turn left onto Finch, then turn left onto Neilson, then turn right onto Finch. What ended up happening was that Neilson turned into some other road that we weren't aware of and we missed the Finch turn the second time around. We U-turned back and found out that Finch actually turned into Morningside, and instead of going left like we were supposed to do, we went right (being all disoriented and all). We keep going and we ended up at Steeles. By this time, we were mighty confused. So I suggested that we turn onto Steeles, find out what the next major street is and if we're going east then we just keep going until we hit Morningside. We first hit Markham so we keep going. We ended up onto this other street that wasn't Steeles anymore. We passed by a golf course, corn fields, silos, apple orchards and we even saw horses! We knew we were extremely lost when we passed by this dirty looking car lot where people get money for selling car parts. There were a bunch of cubans there smoking cigars and they kept looking at us funny. Probably because we didn't fit into that crowd at all seeing as how we have a shiny new Acura and everything. We kept going and even though we knew we had to U-turn we would've still been lost so we pull over to the shoulder and Abby makes me walk a little while to this little truck called "Chunky Fries" to ask the vendor dude directions. The dude ends up being this old brown guy who couldn't really speak english and he told us to turn left onto this street named Sewells and go over this bridge and we'd get to Morningside. "It may be a little complicated but it's much faster". We trust the dude, turn onto Sewells and we almost regretted it because we didn't see a bridge, but after a little while we saw it and couldn't have been happier. The bridge was one of those one lane ones so if we were on the bridge and there was a car going in the opposite direction coming from the other side, we were totally screwed. It was pure luck that once we got off the bridge (and back onto a two lane road) that a car passed us and went onto the bridge. We drove a winding road passing lots of garbage and it looked like one of those places were you could dump garbage and dead people and no one would ever find out. We finally make it to a street light and we were clapping with joy. Well, I was anyways, Abby had to drive. There's a sign that said: <--Morningside Finch--> and we finally made it onto Morningside! We kept going and we saw Sheppard and I FINALLY got to his house. It just took us almost an hour, and it would have been 20 minutes or less if Abby would have just driven on the highway.

It's Almost Over!!

Three more full days left of school and then it's all over...*tear*. Got our yearbooks on Wednesday and I really have to say that it's a pretty awesome yearbook. Last year's yearbook has nothing on this one. Robyn and Web, you guys did an excellent job as editor actually staying at school and leaving AFTER ROBOTICS (that's just...astounding). The past couple of days have mostly been spent signing yearbooks and I'm running out of space! There are still so many people that I want to sign my yearbook. After exams are over in two weeks time, I want to party like mad! Well, maybe not "mad" but just go out and not have to worry about stupid tests or summatives. I really want someone to hold a pool party so...to anyone with a pool (have a party!).
My dad's been more of an ass lately and he really pissed me off this morning. I really don't fucking care about him anymore. I'm tired of actually caring about what he has to say to me, and I'm tired of crying because of it. He kept saying and lecturing about how I won't be able to do well in university because I'm so dependent on him to wake up in the morning. Now, you have to understand that I didn't get to sleep until 3 am because of summatives and the sum of all the hours I've slept for the week is probably less than 12 hours. So he goes all irate and starts to yell about how he has to get to work and that he has to drop me off at school by 8 (usually meaning leaving the house at 7:30). We left the house at 7:40 and I still got to school at 8. On the ride to school he becomes all insane about the whole sleeping deal, I seriously wanted to just punch him in the face and get it over with. I'm sick of him. He wants constant reassurance that I love him but he does this kind of bullshit and expects me to keep saying all that shit. No more.

formal

Well, formal came and went and I can't believe that the event that all of us have been waiting and talking about for almost a year is over. It's OVER!! The day started off with me picking up the boutineer (sp?), and getting my hair and makeup done. I didn't really like any of it really, the makeup made me look really pale and the hair was just decent. Corey and I met up with Tiff, Matt and Anthony at Tiff's house before we headed off to Crystal Fountain. Her dad took a lot of pictures (non-digital) and some of them turned out pretty nice. I have to say though that the method in which her dad used to make us look like we had a natural smile seemed kindof weird to me...."look away...look away, now look back!" On the way to the place, we (Corey and I) got kindof lost because we missed an exit onto the highway when following Matt, Tiff and Anthony, but we got there with our awesome navigational skills *cough cough*. At Crystal Fountain, it was so nice to see everyone glammed up and in nice dresses and suits. It's only every once in a while that you actually see everybody clean and well-dressed. The food sucked a lot, but the dessert made up for it (ice cream crepe!). Didn't do a lot of dancing, except for at the beginning and end, and Corey and I just kindof hung out in the lobby sitting on this really comfortable sofa. Afterwards at Lucus' afterparty, I got kindof tipsy within the first 30 minutes and kindof laid on a futon for the rest of the 4 hours I was there. It was interesting because supposedly I was really loud and kept saying that i wasn't drunk. However, I remembered everything in the morning so it was suffice to say that I wasn't smashed or anything bad like that. People were nice enough to take care of me and helped me walk to places like the bathroom and outside. Overall, it was a good nice, some stuff in the end that I didn't really find nice but other than that, I wouldn't trade my time for anything in the world. Just next time, I hope to not be lying on a futon for the entire time and actually walk around and witness other people being drunk.
