Yay! Today's halloween! But this year, i'm not doing anything! Poo. I have too much work to do! My english ISU is due tuesday, and i'm finishing it all today! YAY! Hopefully i have time to do my chemistry notes tonight too. When I was working, these kids came to the door and were saying, "hey! is barbara here?" and I'm scared of who's at the door, but it turns out its this girl that lives across the street from me (phew!) and she's friends with another girl that i take the bus with...i didn't even know they knew each other. Yea, there weren't that many trick-o-treaters this year...my tally for costumes ended up being: a couple of pink princesses, some pirates, one girl rolled up in toilet paper, and a whole bunch of people in winter coats (is that some kind of new trend i don't know about?). Well, tmrw's another day at school, and the next day will be when my english journals are due and my chemistry test! AHH!

spooky Halloween!!!
Well, its not really Halloween today, but since the REAL day is on Sunday, Woburn decided (like many and most other schools) to have a little Halloween bash today. Halloween is one of the only times in the year where you can dress up whatever the hell you want, and no one would yell at you. Some costumes were quite hilarious, others....Not so much. Some people put a lot of effort into their costumes, some.....Were extremely lazy (but still looked good). Me, however, am not one of those lazy people. I scrounged around all the coca-cola stuff I had (or my mom had) from god knows when, and wore it all today! Well, carry around for some. Yes, that's right! I was the coca-cola fanatic, or some people said, "the walking billboard." Hey, at least I got some attention right? Other costumes I saw today ranged from "The PopTart Guy" (BAAAM!!!) to a pirate disco dancer (shrug) to a doctor/nurse ensemble consisting of 2 people. Yup, today was full of crazy stuff. In the costume contest, the hobo with a yukelele took the prize. What was the prize anyways? Oh well, today was good fun, and the weekend will be killer with chapter tests and parts of ISUs due the next week. (ahh!) I better get crackin'.

InBetweenies
First of all, congratulations to the Woburn Girl's Field Hockey team for winning the championships plus every single game this season (you guys rock!). Second, biology test is tomorrow! AHHHH!!! Actually, I studied, and there aren't that many things to study, I mean, that I NEED to study anyways. Yesterday was fun too. Ian discovered the joys of throwing people against walls (hopefully not me), and I lost three bucks in a poker game (I'm getting better!). We watched two of the three Hannibal Lecter movies (Red Dragon and Hannibal) but they weren't THAT scary..hehehehe. Anyways, there was this one part in Hannibal which was kindof really awesome and really nasty at the same time. It was when Hannibal cut off a chunk of this guy's brain (who was still alive) and fed it to him (Holy crap! He's eating his own brain!!). The party was fun, even though i got into a very..ahem, unusual position while playing Twister (Alan!!). Oh yea, speaking of the party, the party was for my birthday! There weren't that many people there, but I had tons of fun nonetheless. AND! to all those people there who watched me play "insult ping pong" with jeff, i can say the word UGLY as many times i want, and in as many different words that mean ugly as i want! Man, today was such a bore!! Except in racquet sports we don't have to do beep test for a while (yes!! i got a 7!!) I mean, yesterday was fun, and tomorrow will be a great stress ride with the test, but nothing today. Nope. Nada. Totally kaplunk. Now that I think about it, wind ensemble today was pretty boring too, other than mrs. houghton finally noticing the french horns, the instrument which i play, after 3 years of me playing it in woburn. I guess its because i'm in music council, and the other person who plays french horn (tamera) used to be in music council. Why did i join music council in the first place? i'm not sure anymore. Its not as interesting as i thought it would be, and all those negative things people has said about it, is coming true. What have i done?!?! At least it will look good on my resume right? RIGHT?!?! Well, i'm going to find a survey that i can write and put on my blog, b/c my blog is just too short!

Weekend!
YAY! It's the weekend! My favourite two days of the week! I got lots of work to do on saturday since I'm busy on sunday. There is so much studying to do! Like doing the English poetry AND novel ISUs, and studying for the Biology test. I really want to see Shawn of the Dead and Team America: World Police. My sister told me that she wanted me to go over to live with her in Kingston over the March Break, and I said "sure!". Kingston is a really nice town: small, friendly, and pumped full of university students and convicts. Other than that, they have nice salons, and cute little shops to well, shop in. I really shouldn't be thinking about trips at the moment since I still have to do a lot of work for school and apply to university! AHH! I really hope i get into the university I want, and I'm really trying hard, but sometimes I feel like I'm not doing the best job I can do. Oh well, I guess I can only do so much right? And I don't want to drown myself in homework because that would be no fun at all!

English ISU
Yay! I'm almost done this horrible poetry ISU! I finished the "original poem" today where we have to write a poem in the style of the poet we chose. Mine was Robert Frost. It seemed easy at first, you know, just talk about nature and make it rhyme, but a lot of his poems are really deep, and it was so hard to duplicate that kind of deep-ness. Its almost report card time so projects and tests are everywhere! Well...thats all I have to say for now, over and out.

*Today is my Birthday!*
WOOHOOO! It's my birthday today and I am now officially 17 years old. However, I won't be partying today, I have a university fair to go to (bah!), but I can party all I want next weekend! YAY! Yesterday, I went to dinner with my dad's side of the relatives, but it wasn't my "birthday dinner", it was just a regular dinner where my cousin brought her little kid (Rachel who is now 3), and everyone is "awwing" and smiling at her. Man, sometimes I wish I was the youngest in the family again, but I'm not. I then start to realize, not only am I not the youngest in the family anymore, I am also not of the latest generation! Rachel is the start of the next generation in this family's history and I am in the second generation! Holy moly, I feel old now. As the years go by, I will soon be the oldest generation in the family. That's just a scary thought. My sister and I were debating whether or not Rachel would turn out to be more like us (being more "western" than "eastern", or like my HK cousin put it a "banana"), or being more like my other cousin (who is 100% Chinese, but can manage to speak English and do well in school). We have come to the conclusion that Rachel would turn out to be more like my cousin, because a lot of my former Chinese classmates who were born in Canada (like Rachel) knew more about Chinese society and stuff than us (who were born in HK and moved here at a very early age). Then we wonder, why is that? It may be because of the fact that parents want their kids to be more Chinese and not get assimilated into western culture by exposing them to more Chinese things than western things. I mean, I don't even know who the hell "Edison" is, or "F4" until I went to HK and found out they were the "hot guys" (there are hot Chinese guys?) at the time. I don't know why my sister and I turned out so differently than other Chinese kids since we were both exposed to lots of Chinese culture, but I guess it had to do with school and how we enjoyed speaking English more than speaking Chinese..Thus a BANANA! Don't you love being compared to fruit?

Whhhatt!?!?!
Today was full of nothingness. Nothing happened today that didn't happen any other day. I got the little convo from Ryan and i have to say, it was pretty hilarious. However, i cannot stress the fact that the strategy used was very mean...but nonetheless EXTREMELY enjoyable to read. Thnx for the entertainment! My sister's going back to Kingston today but i'm not sad, she's coming back on friday for my birthday! YAY! The sucky thing is that there's a university convention on my birthday so i can't hold anything that weekend, maybe next weekend. Or maybe...no weekend at all!!!!Oh well, turning 17 isn't important anyways, nothing happens. I hope people remember, because birthdays suck when people don't remember.

It's Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving! We are actually having turkey this year...seriously! Alex and Abby are coming to eat dinner with us which is really awesome, it'll be like a big family dinner! ooo, and also my grandparents, who thinks Alex is such a great guy and he's really handsome (hahahahahaha). I really don't want to do my English homework today but I have to! My justification part of my poetry ISU is due on wednesday, and I have to finish my reading journals for my first novel for my novel ISU that lasts the entire year! GAAH! ISU's everywhere. It will only take a matter of time before i start dreaming of ISU's flying around. I don't know why they give us so much homework in grade 12, they should give us equal amounts of work to do throughout high school, because it just really sucks how i have tons of ISUs and projects this year, and barely anything in grade 9. I mean, I could have managed more work in grade 9, and less work now. Also, i have to apply to university this year and it really sucks that i have a crapload of hwk that is worth a heck of a lot! Dang it, i just can't wait till this year is over and i can party all summer. Well, just another 9 months to go...woohoo.

My First Post!
Today was like any other Sunday, except for the rude awakening by my dad, followed by the news that we had a lunch date with my relatives. So there I was, sitting at this gigantic round table with these relatives that I knew, and also two that came to visit from HK, and it was just me and my dad. My mom had to stay at home to watch over the maid that came over every week to clean our house...its kindof like..."molly maid" service. After lunch, we went home and I realized I had to go the library to pick up a book for my English ISU. So I drove (yes me!), and my mom, and went to Agincourt library, the closest library we know that opens on Sundays. We glanced at the parking lot of the library and it was virtually deserted! What? the library is..is... closed?! on a sunday??! holy crap! The sign on the door said, "CLOSED FOR HOLIDAY"...what? Sunday's not the holiday, monday is! I mean, if they were going to close the stupid library for the stupid holiday why not just close the library for the entire weekend?!?! seriously, that pissed me off. We then decided to go to the North York library to check if that was open, (i didn't go on the highway to get there though, too chicken!), and it was closed too! damn, i mean, DAMN! I ended up buying the stupid book at Chapters, which was OPEN because its a sunday and not a stupid HOLIDAY!
YAY! my sister is coming home tmrw for thanksgiving (which is the only holiday day of this weekend! grrr....) and she's bringing Alex over too. I want to face him in chess again, or rather, i want my sister and i to face him in chess again because we were so close to winning, and he did this strategy stuff and won! man, he's too smart, and tall (6' 7"!).
YAY! first post! hopefully there will be more to come!
